Join DoubleShot Workshops (by dsmPhotoCompany) for the Mixing Flash with Ambient Light workshop. In this full-day workshop, alongside special guest mentor Dean Johnson, you will learn the principles of mixing flash with different light sources and balancing the light temperatures. Every year our studio hosts a full day of headshots for local professionals. This year – we’re offering this event not once – but twice! Our latest headshot special was so popular this past March that on Saturday, July 23rd you can schedule to get your headshot created by a professional team of photographers and stylists – for an amazing rate of $125! That includes light beauty styling, time with 2 photographers and 2 digital files.

Once again we’ll be partnering with local talent agencies in central Iowa looking for talent of all ages/looks for multiple media outlets. The final results from your headshots along with your contact information will be shared with the agencies to help you get noticed!

Every year, Grimes host an event typically known as the “Grimes Funtastic Days”. This year, to support the Grimes Governors District – the event was named after this organization. This year, the entire dsmPhotoCompany team got involved as a vendor and in the parade.

Even thru some sour weather, we were there Thursday and Friday night at our booth meeting with people interested in our studio and of course toting our cameras along. Saturday brought some fantastic weather as we started the day with a large parade – handing our candy to little boys & girls was absolutely a highlight of the weekend. We also had the opportunity to photograph some awesome performances during the Governors Days. Thursday night the Isiserettes performed in front of a large crowd and Saturday offered performances from 3 dance studios. We hung out for a while Saturday night to photograph part of a rockin’ performance from The Nadas.

And we definitely couldn’t forget the pedal tractor pull. Wow – this was SO fun! These kids were determined to give their best and we caught some great (and very amusing) expressions on camera. Of course we got a shot of all the winners too – holding their trophies up high as proud parents looked on.
